Ich benutze auf #Linux und in #Windows schon lange nicht mehr den #VLC-Player, aus diversen Gründen. Allen, die damit Probleme haben, empfehle ich, mal den #SMPlayer auszuprobieren, auf www.smplayer.info - Den nutze ich mittlerweile seit Jahren zum abspielen und der erinnert auch bei Pausen oder Stops die Stelle und fährt ab dort weiter fort. Genial. Und kennt auch alle #Codecs.

Windows mit den verfügbaren Programmen war mehr Klickibunti als Linux, mich stört die Unsachlichkeit, wenn ich am Windows Rechner sitzen muss, besonders seit dem privaten Linux Wechsel - lenkt mich vom Wesentlichen ab. Noch nerviger finde ich apple mit seinem m.E. überladenen Design, deren Geräte schalte ich möglichst schnell wieder aus. Es muss nicht immer shell oder greenscreen sein, aber wenn ein OS mich "anschreit" bin ich genervt.

Tl;dr: I have celebrated one year since having switched from #Windows to #Linux by... switching from Linux to OpenBSD my daily driver OS. Why? OpenBSD's "proactive security by default" stance is the best for me - and it runs on my somewhat legacy hardware. Most of the essential software I used on Linux is also here, so for most purposes OpenBSD is fine for me.
